I recently carried out free power tool forensic security marking at Jewson, Sowton where i handed out approx 60 SelectaDNA marking kits to trades people.

I did say about doing a similar event in Marsh Barton so after speaking to management at Toolstation, they've agreed that i can hold an event there on Mon 5th Nov from 8.30am onwards.

The reason i'm doing this is after the high number of reports of power tools being stolen around Exeter and the surrounding areas. A lot of these tools are high value and cost the owners a lot of money to replace.

This is open to trades people and local authority. I've got around 40 SelectaDNA kits left so it'll be on a first come basis. Each kit marks around 50 items. They come with deterrent signs which you can put on your tools and work vans. If a theft does occur then it will help us to get the tools back to the righful owner.

If you have high value power tools then it's well worth coming along for a kit.
