Quickes Traditional is celebrating National Apple Day by hosting a seasonal food fair - Sunday 27 October. The Quickes Cheese Shop - in Newton St Cyres, Devon - will welcome visitors to enjoy a selection of Quickes award-winning cheese, artisan foods and of course, a variety of local apples!

The food fair will also be a celebration of local food - cheese tasting with Quickes and other artisan food producers showcasing their quality products. These include Waterhouse Fayre, Black Dog Eggs and Sandford Orchard.

There will be a hog roast and to help wash it all down - spiced mulled cider and local ales. Children will be celebrating Apple Day too with fun activities and games taking place throughout the day. National Apple Day is an annual event which has been held in October for over twenty years - promoting the variety of apples grown in orchards across the UK. Celebratory events can vary from apple games in the garden to a weekend event full of cookery demonstrations, apple pressing and tastings. Apple Day was initiated by the charity, Common Ground, to commemorate the diversity of locally grown food.
