It’s the world’s favourite family board game which last month had been celebrating its’ 80th anniversary. Now the secrets of how to break the Monopoly bank are laid bare by the company that has produced the official Exeter version of the board. A games brainbox has come up with the “perfect plan” of how to win at Monopoly – perhaps as elaborate as breaking out of the Monopoly jail itself! And he has adapted it to the official Exeter version which is going to be played by thousands of families over this festive period. Peter Griffin is a Cambridge University graduate and MONOPOLY...

Monopoly Exeter edition a sell-out

The board – launched less than three weeks ago ago – is proving “hot property”, the makers said today with a THIRD print run due to get underway later this week. And with just under two months to go until Yuletide, the board's makers reckon that by Christmas Eve the only boards around will be those on Santa's sleigh!

Dan Taylor, from the board’s makers Winning, Moves says: “We are now on our second print-run and a third one is poised.” Mr Taylor, Monopoly Development Director for Winning Moves UK - makers of the board under license from Hasbro - added: “The popularity of the board...

Exeter Chiefs for sale (there is a catch)

The very first set is to be revealed tomorrow on Exeter’s official MONOPOLY board. It’s a set of sports landmarks in the city, led by Exeter Chiefs. The board will be revealed in spectacular style next month, when it is launched in Exeter city centre. To mark the launch a gigantic five foot by foot square replica of the board will be unfurled in the city centre as MR MONOPOLY – the board’s icon – hands out signed MONOPOLY dollars to shoppers. If you land on The Chiefs – whose ground will be showcased all over the world when the Rugby World Cup 2015 kicks off later this month - it will set...

The official Monopoly board for Exeter will be launched at a city ceremony on Wednesday 7 October, and as part of the celebrations the board’s makers are on the lookout for a ‘VIP’ to launch the board.... Very Important Posh-person that is!

Earlier in the year it was reported in the national and regional media how Exeter could be too well-heeled to have an Old Kent Road...

Exeter City FC for Old Kent Road?

Exeter City FC has been voted to land on ‘Old Kent Road’ on a new official MONOPOLY board for Devon’s capital city. The public has been polling for landmarks to fill the board, however it has been widely reported - including in the UK media and on national TV - that Exeter could perhaps be TOO POSH to have its own Old Kent Road equivalent. And since these recent reports the public has nominated the Grecians to land on the infamous MONOPOLY location, which sits at the foot of the board. One of these suggestions has been left on a forum in Exeter’s rival city, Plymouth. But some, confirm the...

Less than two weeks to go now until the nation votes… but it’s ANOTHER election campaign that is capturing the public’s imagination: The Exeter Monopoly election.
