InExeter announces backing for nine city centre events and projects

InExeter has announced funding support for a series of events and projects. Six events have secured funding from the city’s business improvement district, each of which add vibrancy to Exeter’s cultural offering.

The, new for 2019, Exeter Festival is among the events to receive backing: the event, taking place over the weekend of 5-7 July, will see three days of films, music and entertainment in Northernhay Gardens. InExeter offers £8,000 funding pot to support community events 

Applications are now open for funding from Exeter’s business improvement district, InExeter, with £8,000 being allocated for the year commencing 1 April 2019.

The funding round is open to community event and project groups, with a maximum allocation of £3,000 for each individual event or activity.

InExeter hopes to support community events and projects which bring people into the city and add to the cultural, music, arts or health and wellbeing scene.

InExeter announces date for this year's Christmas lights switch on event

This year the city will be illuminated with the biggest display of Christmas lights Exeter has ever seen.

For the third year, InExeter will host and celebrate the city’s Christmas lights switch on event with a new festival for all the family culminating in the lights being switched on at a new time of 5pm on Sunday 18th November in close partnership with Stagecoach and sponsor Crealy.

InExeter proud to host training courses for business members

Since January this year, InExeter has hosted 10 training courses for city centre businesses, with over 32 different businesses involved courses including Emergency First Aid, Food Catering, Customer Service and Social Media Training have been held to help support InExeter businesses.

Exeter Chiefs stars to shine at Christmas lights switch on

InExeter has confirmed that Exeter Chief wingers, Olly Woodburn and Jack Nowell have accepted the honour of switching on the city’s festive lights at this year’s Christmas light switch on event. Taking place on Thursday 16 November, the event, sponsored by Stagecaoch, is set to draw thousands of residents and visitors to the heart of the city for a huge family friendly celebration brimming with entertainment and live music.
