McDonald’s Marsh Barton Restaurant set to reopen

Following significant investment from local franchisee, David Shawyer, McDonald’s in Stone Lane Retail Park on Marsh Barton Road is set to reopen on 3rd February 2022 after a major refurbishment, which has brought exciting new features to the restaurant. The official re-opening will be attended by the Lord Mayor of Exeter, Councillor Trish Oliver, to officiate with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

The new restaurant will boast all the latest innovations from McDonald’s, including new, more efficient, soft drinks machines and a new staff room with a new redesigned kitchen for the crew...

Full steam ahead on Marsh Barton rail station construction

Work on Marsh Barton railway station is progressing well and remains on track for completion next winter.

Construction on the station, which is located near the Energy from Waste plant on the eastern edge of Marsh Barton, started last spring.

Development of the two platforms is ongoing and concrete piles and pile caps have been completed on both platforms. Concrete beams and slabs have been installed on platform one.

Exeter City Women’s FC and the Lord Mayor Cllr Trish Oliver, attended the opening of the new Travis Perkins branch in Exeter.

The branch has set up a new sponsorship deal with the club which includes a subscription to the software of the team’s new goal analysis camera and a tripod as well as programme sponsorship. The goal analysis camera means that the club can record and analyse their matches and training sessions and track the movement of their players and the ball.

Travis Perkins creates 10 new roles ahead of branch opening in Exeter

Travis Perkins, the UK’s largest supplier of building materials to the building and construction industry, has recruited 10 people from the surrounding area to fill part time and full-time roles ahead of opening its new branch in Exeter in August, bringing the total number of roles to 25.

The 10 new jobs that have been created include a branch apprentice, a Benchmarx kitchen designer, a yard manager, a tool hire driver and fitter, a HGV Driver and five yard sales positions.

Work progressing at pace on new Marsh Barton rail station

Work on the new Marsh Barton rail station, which began last month, is progressing at pace.

Preparatory works to the site, near to the Energy from Waste plant on the eastern edge of Marsh Barton, Exeter, are well underway.

Vegetation has been cleared, existing utilities protected, and a site compound and access road have been created ready for the next phase to begin in June.

With work traffic to site about to become busy, Clapperbrook Lane East will be closed to vehicles, for the safety of the public and the workforce, from 1 June 2021 to 15 July 2022.

Work has started on the construction of a new railway station at Marsh Barton in Exeter.

The station, which will feature two platforms, will be located near the Energy from Waste plant on the eastern edge of Marsh Barton.

A public consultation is underway on proposals for an electricity substation to support development to the south west of Exeter.
