A concert that explores the varied roles of the piano in performance. Our programme features the piano as the extravagant soloist and the submissive accompanist, heard live in the room, through a distorted cassette recorder and through a humble teapot. The piano will also tell the story of our concert venue as a living electrical organism in a fascinating exploration of the hidden sounds around us.

PAUL METSERS is a top rated New Zealand singer/songwriter who moved to the UK in the 1980s and toured extensively.
He quickly became a firm favourite at Folk Clubs and Festivals, helped by his song "Farewell to the Gold" being taken up by Nic Jones, who recorded it on his CD "Penguin's Eggs". Paul Lewis born on 20th May 1972 is an English classical painist and will play Beethoven’s last three sonatas at St Peter’s Church, Budleigh Salterton on Saturday, 3rd October from 7.30pm. These are widely considered to be three of the most sublime, brilliant and audacious of his works for piano.
