Lack of physical activity could cause as many as 36,815 premature deaths in England each year, according to statistics released today by the South West Public Health Observatory (SWPHO) and charity Sustrans.

Police are appealing for witnesses after three vehicles were involved in a road traffic collision on Saturday 16 March near Newton Poppleford. The collision happened at around 3.30pm on the A3052, one mile west of Newton Poppleford, near Sidmouth.
