Guardian Homecare says now the clocks have changed, elderly and vulnerable people are more inclined to stay inside, and its carers are sometimes their only link to the outside world.
Catherine Porter, Manager at Guardian Homecare, which delivers personalised home care in the Exeter area, said: “The days are now getting darker and much colder, and this can often limit the amount of time our service...

Catherine Porter, Manager at Guardian Homecare, said: “We’re approaching winter, which is our busiest time of the year because, as the temperatures drop and the night’s close in, elderly and...
EXETER residents are being asked by a leading home care agency this month (September 2019) to help prepare elderly relatives and neighbours for the autumn and the inclement weather to come.
Guardian Homecare says as the cooler temperatures set in, so too does the heightened risk of seasonal-related illnesses, falls and even loneliness, as the elderly and vulnerable stay indoors, preferring not to venture out.
Manager for Guardian Homecare, which cares for people in Exeter and surrounding areas, Catherine Porter, explains: “As the leaves start to fall, the evenings draw in...
