Appeal after bus passenger racially abused

Police are keen to speak to the woman pictured following a racially aggravated harassment incident which occurred at a bus stop in High Street, Exeter, just before 5pm on Saturday 6th June.

A woman jumped the queue and when challenged by the victim made a racial remark in response.

Police would like to identify the woman pictured who is described as being a white female, believed aged in her 50’s, approximately 5’6” in height, big build, with curly shoulder length hair, and wearing a top and skirt.

Plans underway for new Park and Ride

Plans are underway for a new site for a proposed Park and Ride on the edge of Exeter.

Devon County Council is set to begin pre-application discussions on a new location for the Park and Ride at the A30 Alphington Interchange junction.

Previous proposals had looked to develop the Oaklands Stable site, accessed off Alphington Road. However, following recent evaluations a new site at “Round Field” is proposed, which is on the other side of the A30 junction between the westbound slip road and the road that leads out towards Ide.

Bus operator Stagecoach announced today (3 June 2015) that it has appointed a new Managing Director of its South West bus operations.

Current Stagecoach East Engineering Director Bob Dennison will take on the role of Managing Director, Stagecoach South West from 1 July 2015. Stagecoach previously confirmed that current South West Managing Director Mike Watson will become Managing Director, Stagecoach South on the same date.

Appeal following sexual assault on bus

Police in South Devon are appealing for information following a sexual assault on a bus.

The incident occurred between 8.30pm and 8.45pm on Thursday 23rd April whilst the victim, a 17 year old female travelled on a No.12 Stagecoach bus, between Paignton and Newton Abbot.

When the bus stopped at the Arcades near to Fleet Walk, Torquay, an unidentified man was talking to the driver. As the bus continued its journey between Torquay and Newton Abbot, the victim sat upstairs at the very front of the bus when she was joined by this man.

A group campaigning for better travel solutions in the south west areas of Exeter has asked all prospective councillors for Cowick, Alphington and St Thomas for their views on key issues such as whether or not they support a review of proposed measures, including a park and ride on the site of Oaklands Riding School. A group campaigning for better travel solutions in the south west areas of Exeter is calling on local councils to review their current plans for transport provision across Alphington, Marsh Barton, Cowick and the 3,000 homes due to be built on the Alphington/Exminster edges of the city.

Stagecoach’s UK Bus division has been named Large Employer of the Year at the People 1st Apprenticeship Awards.

Biker seriously injured in Kenton crash

Police are appealing for witnesses to a serious collision involving two buses and a motorcycle in Kenton.

The collision happened at around 7.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 3 March) on the A379 between the Powderham turning and Kenton village.

A double-decker bus and grey Yamaha motorcycle were travelling from Exeter towards Dawlish, and a single-decker bus was travelling in the opposite direction at the time of the incident.
